The Artist
I was ten years old the first time I held a camera, barely big enough to steady it, but instantly captivated by the magic it held. Even then, I wasn’t just snapping photos, I was chasing emotion. Every time I pressed the shutter, I was trying to capture the feeling a scene stirred in me: awe, wonder, stillness, excitement, achievement, or thrill.
As I grew, so did the landscapes around me. My world expanded far beyond the edges of the city I grew up in. Over the decades, I found myself in some of the most remote and breathtaking corners of the globe – from the roaring silence of the African wilderness to the majestic blues of the tropics. Each place offered a new emotion, a new story waiting to be told through light and lens.
What drew me in most was the wildlife – majestic, untamed, and full of soul. A lion’s gaze, an eagle’s flight, a bisons silent march across endless plains. There’s raw emotion in these creatures. Strength, struggle, grace – and I’ve spent my life capturing that truth, that spark.
But it’s never just about the wildlife. It’s also the landscape that surrounds them; the moody skies, golden light, and vast terrain that shape the world they inhabit. It’s about both the merging of creature and place with the raw emotions of their character that tells the full story. That’s where the beauty lives.
Through my lenses I’ve sought not just to document, but to feel. My life long belief is the beauty is not in what we see, beauty is in how we see it. Brining me to my lifelong pursuit to help others feel what I’ve been privileged to experience. Because to stand in the presence of such beauty and emotion, and to share those dreams, desires and passion with the world, is the greatest journey of all.
